I'm in my early fifties and am suffering badly with receding gums - it appears to be a condition caused by inappropriate removal of teeth when I was young, but whatever the reason, I'm suffering! I've been recommended Sesame Oil as a mouth rinse (20 minutes - it's a little difficult, but if it works, it's worth it!) to detox the mouth, followed by a rinse with salt water. I tried it last night, and sure enough, the oil when spat out was white, a sign that it's picked up the toxins in the mouth, apparently.... I'm going to give it a go over the next few weeks. My sister paid for very expensive gum replacement (involving a graft from the roof of the mouth) and it hasn't really worked, so I reckon the natural alternative is the way to go.....watch this space!
